LockPod is an upcoming app for iPhones running iOS 16 or later that allows users to add their favorite music to iOS 16’s lock screen widgets.
With LockPod users get the ability to add the playlist, station or album of their choice to the lock screen. Once a LockPod lock screen widget has been added users can tap on it in order to quickly open that playlist in Apple Music.
LockPod is going to join several other apps that are bringing third-party widgets to iOS 16 lock screen. We have already covered some other awesome lock screen widget apps including Lock Launcher and Lock Screen Contact Widget.
Just like other apps mentioned above with LockPod you can create widgets using its app. While creating the widget you can choose what kind of content you want to have in the widget and choose the playlist for it.
Users are also able to choose a custom image for the widget and choose between circular and rectangular widget shapes.
Once you have created your music widget within the app, you can use Lock Screen’s editing mode in order to add your new widget to the widget area found beneath the lock screen clock.
LockPod app is currently in beta. If you want, you can join the LockPod beta via TestFlight app and help the developer in testing it out.
LockPod will be released for everyone after iOS 16 update is released in the fall.
