WhatsApp for iOS adds tons of new features in the latest update

Everyone’s favorite cross-platform messaging app, WhatsApp has received a major update on the App Store adding tons of new features to the app. The version 2.11.9 brings a wide range of changes that add new capabilities and options for the users. Latest update improves chat, groups, image and video sharing, notifications and download options for the users giving them more control over the app’s behavior.

After the update you will be able to archive single and group chats, add captions to your photos and videos before sharing them and even share slow-motion videos if you have an iPhone 5s. Another nice features allows users to trim videos before sending them over to their friends right from within the app. To make taking photos more convenient WhatsApp has now added the instant camera access to the chat screen above the keyboard.

The update also brings changes for location sharing feature as it now enables users to send satellite and hybrid maps to their friends. They also get to drag and drop a pin on the map to select their exact location, something that was not possible before.

Previously WhatsApp downloaded each and every image and video shared by your friends in your Photos app, the new version changes that by allowing users to have this feature enabled or disabled. Along with these changes new wallpapers and notification tones have also been included in WhatsApp.
