By default iOS dock on the iPhone only allows you to add up to 4 icons and does not offer any customization options. That changes if you install the CirDock tweak from Cydia. This tweak allows users to add as many icons to the dock as they want and offers carousel based UI, which enables you to swipe through the icons. But that’s not all as CirDock offers many other unique functionalities that give you more control over how dock works and looks, while adding new features to it.
CirDock offers several themes for the carousel all of which offer different animations. You can choose from Cylinder, Cover Flow, Linear, Rotary, Time Machine and Wheel. Some of these layouts are available in inverted modes as well, which gives them a completely different feel. The tweak also has a feature that allows the dock to highlight apps that are running in the background. It adds a customizable highlighter to the app’s label go indicate app’s state.
The CirDock tweak gives full control over which apps appear in the dock to the user. You can add apps of your choice and also choose the favorites that will appear in a separate dock section, accessible through a swipe. In addition to adding normal app icons you can also configure the tweak to show apps that have pending badge notifications.
In addition to all the features mentioned above the developer also plans to add several more including an option to enable auto hide, third-party themes and more.
You can download CirDock from Cydia for $1. It works with both iOS 7 and iOS 8 powered devices.
