Transition tweak brings cool unlock animations to iOS lockscreen

Transition tweak (1)

Unlike the older versions of iOS where we had a button to slide for the slide to unlock gesture, on iOS 8 we literally have to slide the lockscreen before we can access anything else on our device. If you want to add some spice to the lockscreen and replace the boring sliding effect with some cool animations then Transition tweak is here to help. The tweak brings a bunch of animations that appear when you slide on the lockscreen to unlock your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

There are 25 different animation styles to choose from ranging from pixelate effect, scanner effect, sphere, distortion, bars, blur, comic, flash, glide, gloom and many more. The animations as seen in the demo video below are pretty smooth and look nice. You can even influence the way an animation looks by changing your lockscreen wallpaper. Although not all animations work when you use the Touch ID to unlock your device, some of them work with Touch ID unlock too.

There are not many options to configure as from Settings all you need to do is enable the Transition tweak and then choose the animation you want to use. Apart from the normal transition options you also get the ‘Random’ option that makes different animations appear on the lockscreen every time you unlock your device.

You can download the Transition tweak on your jailbroken iOS device for $1.99. It requires iOS 8 to run.
