Today’s roundup of newly released Cydia tweaks includes some really useful hacks that change the way iOS works in the most subtle yet noticeable way. All of the three hacks featured in the roundup including AppColorClose, SmartBatteryPercentage and StealthMemos are available in the store as a free download.
AppColorClose
The AppCloseColor tweak replaces the original white and blurry look of the ‘x’ button that appears when you put your device in the wiggle mode to delete an app. Instead of the usual look it turns the color of the ‘x’ button into the dominant color of the app’s icon. So if the app’s icon color is orange the close button will be tinted orange, if its blue than the button of close button will be blue and so on. From settings you can set the tint alpha of the tweak, which will effect the intensity of the button’s color. AppColorClose is available in Cydia’s BigBoss repo for free.
SmartBatteryPercentage
SmartBatteryPercentage tweak makes your iPhone ‘smarter’ by making it show the battery percentage in the status bar only if it is 20% or less. If it is higher than this then the percentage will not be shown. There are no options to configure for this tweak, however ability to specify battery level for showing the percentage would have been nice for the users. You can get this tweak from Cydia’s BigBoss repo for free as well.
On a related note you can enable or disable status bar’s battery percentage feature by turning toggle from Settings > General > Usage > Battery Usage on or off.
StealthMemos
iOS features a stock app for recording voice memos. The only problem with this app is when you start recording and go to the homesceen, iOS shows an annoying red banner on top of the screen indicating that sound is still being recorded. If you would like to get rid of this indicator then StealthMemos can help. It simply removes this red banner so you can stealthily record sounds without anyone noticing. StealthMemos is available in Cydia for free under the ModMyi repo.
