How To Enable Or Disable “Hey Siri” On Supported Macs

macOS Mojave brings the missing ‘Hey Siri’ feature to iMac Pro. It only made sense for the company to bring this feature to the premium computer since the Hey Siri feature uses Apple’s T2 chip, which iMac Pro already has. With the addition of Hey Siri support, iMac Pro users will now be able to trigger Siri by simply saying the ‘Hey Siri’ command.

With the addition of iMac Pro, three Mac models now support the Hey Siri feature including MacBook Pro 15-inch 2018 model and MacBook Pro 13-inch 2018 model.

Enable Or Disable Hey Siri On macOS Mojave

You can enable or disable the Hey Siri feature on the Mac by following a few simple steps.

  1. On your Mac open System Preferences.
  2. Click on ‘Siri‘ option.
  3. On the Siri options page you will see a checkbox that says “Listen for “Hey Siri“.
  4. Make sure the checkbox is ticked if you want to use the Hey Siri feature or unchecked if you want to disable it.

Having the Hey Siri feature can be pretty useful on the Mac, perhaps more so than it is on other devices. You can ask Siri questions even when you are not sitting on your desk and make Siri do things while you are still working on your documents.
