iPhone X has a new feature that makes it possible for users to quickly turn on their iPhone’s display by tapping on its screen. The screen is turned on as soon as you tap on it, allowing you to read your notifications or unlock your device with a swipe up gesture. Most iPhone X users were delighted to have this feature on their devices.

However there are many users who don’t like this feature, as it can also cause your iPhone’s screen to turn on unintentionally. Turn off tap of wake feature on iPhone X

  1. On your iPhone X open the Settings app.
  2. Now tap on ‘General’ and then on ‘Accessibility’.
  3. Scroll down on the Accessibility page until you find the ‘Tap to Wake’ option.
  4. Turn off the toggle switch located next to it.

That’s it. Once the Tap to Wake toggle is turned off, your iPhone will not turn on when you tap on its screen. The Raise to Wake feature will still work letting you turn on the screen by holding your iPhone vertically.
