Apple Releases iOS 15.7 And iOS 16, Gives Users Option To Choose Between The Two

Apple has today released two separate versions of iOS updates. Along with releasing iOS 16.0 the company has also made iOS 15.7 update available for download on all iPhone models.

Now users are getting an option to download iOS 15.7 or iOS 16.0. On the Software Update screen that can be accessed by going to Settings -> General -> Software Update users can see iOS 15.7 update and download it.

In addition to iOS 15.7 they are also getting another option, which says ‘Upgrade to iOS 16’. Users can tap on this option and go to the iOS 16.0 download page, which allows them to download and Install iOS 16 on their device.

So if you wish to upgrade to iOS 16 instead of iOS 15.7, you have to tap on Upgrade to iOS 16 option and then on the next screen tap on Download and Install.

Previously it was thought that iOS 15.7 will only be available on iPhones that are not supported by iOS 16 (iPhone 7 or older), however after today’s release it is apparent that anyone can install iOS 15.7 on their device if they do not wish to upgrade to iOS 16.0.

This is the second time users are given option to stay on the same iOS release and upgrade to a minor update instead of installing the major release, which in this case is iOS 16.
