After years of being available for iPhone and iPod touch, Facebook’s popular Messenger app for iOS has finally been released for the iPad. The iPad version has been added to the already available Messenger application, turning it into a universal app. Facebook Messenger for iPad packs same features as the iPhone version however it is specifically designed for the tablet’s larger screen and takes full advantage of the extra real estate.
Previously iPad users were able to use the Facebook Messenger on their device but it was the enlarged version of the iPhone app and not a real app for iPad, which as we all know is never the ideal situation. The new app features a multi-window interface that is very similar to other messaging apps available for the device. Users can tap on the thread and start chatting.
Facebook Messenger for iPad also features calling capability, ability to share images, sticker, send voice messages. It also has the ability to share location, let user have group conversations and more.
Apart from bringing the native iPad edition, version 7.0 also brings more reliable calls and some minor fixes.
