HomePod Pre-Orders Begin On 26th January, Ships On 9th February

After a long delay Apple’s HomePod smart speaker is finally launching. The company has announced that the product will be available for pre-order starting 26th January and will ship to buyers on 9th February. HomePod is a Siri powered smart speaker that makes it possible for users to perform everyday tasks using Siri. You can send texts from your iPhone, control HomeKit appliances, listen to music and more using HomePod that is set to rival products like Amazon Alexa and Google Home.

HomePod is powered by an A8 chip and features a touchscreen on top that displays Siri’s waveform animation and +/- buttons for volume control. The smart speakers deliver a 360° sound experience. The speaker is capable of taking advantage of advanced algorithms to analyze the music, and dynamically tune the low frequencies for immersive and smooth listening experience.

Setting up HomePod is quite simple, just plug it in and your iOS device will detect it. The speaker is capable of listening to user commands from across the room even when loud music is playing. Other features of HomePod smart speakers include ability to automatically analyze the ascoustics and adjust sound based on its location and pair up feature that will be added later this year, which lets you wirelessly connect two HomePods together for stereo sounds. AirPlay 2 feature will also be added to HomePod later this year.

HomePod costs $349 and comes in black and white colors. It is compatible with iPhone 5s or later, iPad Air or later, iPod touch 6th gen. and more. iOS 11.2.5 is required.
