watchOS 2 update for Apple Watch is finally available for download

Apple Watch

If you have been waiting for the release of watchOS 2 software update, then we have got a good news for you. After delaying the release of first major watchOS update for a week, Apple has finally made it available for download. If you own a Watch then open the Watch app on your iPhone and head over to General > Software in order to download the update. The update has been released for all Watch models and brings a number of major new features and enhancements, that are a must have for every user.

Most notable features of watchOS 2 include support for native apps that can run on the device itself. With this features apps that run natively not only have improved performance but they also get to use the device’s hardware, which was not possible in the previous version of the operating system. Running apps natively improves performance as the processes are taking place on the watch and not on the iPhone, so there’s less communication and data transfer between the iPhone and the Watch. In addition to that watchOS 2 also brings new watch faces that offer more customization options. Existing watch faces have also been updated to add new features as well.

Apple has also added useful new Time Travel mode, which lets users peek into rest of their day in order to see what events are scheduled in the coming hours. A new Nightstand mode has also been added that allows users to turn their watch into a bedside clock during night. Other than that existing stock apps and Siri have also received new features and enhancements.

watchOS 2 just like any other software update from Apple is available for free and you can download it right now.
