How To Increase Photo Brightness And Contrast Using Photos App On iPhone

The built-in photo editor found hidden inside the stock Photos app on iOS is one of its most underrated features. The image editor is quite powerful and can allow you to perform many tasks without needing any third-party application. One of the features hidden inside iOS Photo app’s image editor is the ability to increase or decrease brightness and contrast of an image.

In this step by step tutorial we will show you how you can increase photo brightness and contrast using Photos app on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

1. Launch the Photos app on your iPhone and open the photo that you want to edit.

2. Tap on the ‘Edit‘ button to enter the image editor mode.

Note: Follow step ‘a‘ for brightness and step ‘b‘ for contrast.

To increase or Decrease Brightness

3.a Once in the image editor tap on the ‘Adjustment‘ button as shown in the screenshot below.

4.a From the menu tap on ‘Light‘ option.

5.a Now tap on the menu button located on top right side of the preview strip.

6.a A new menu will open, tap on the ‘Brightness‘ option and move the red slider to increase or decrease brightness on the photo.

To increase or decrease Contrast

3.b Once in the image editor tap on the ‘Adjustment’ button.

4.b From the menu tap on ‘Light‘ option.

5.b Now tap on the menu button located on top right side of the preview strip.

6.b A new menu will open, tap on the ‘Contrast‘ option and move the red slider to increase or decrease Contrast on the photo.

Once you are done simply tap on the ‘Done’ button to save the changes.

There you go folks, that is how you can increase or decrease brightness and/or contrast on any photo stored on your iPhone. Once you have made the change you can also revert the changes at a later stage.
