Apple Releases iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1 Release Candidates

Apple has released iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1 Release Candidates to developers and they are now available for download. If you are a registered Apple developer who is running iOS 16.1 or iPadOS 16.1 beta on his or her devices, then now is the time to update.

iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1 Release Candidates have been released over-the-air for those who are already running the developer beta. If you are new to developer beta and want to download iOS 16.1 RC or iPadOS 16.1 RC on your device, then you can download iOS 16 beta profile on your device and install the release candidate on it.

With release candidates for iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1 getting released today, it looks like Apple is on track to releasing them to public on October 24.

Along side iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1, Release Candidates for macOS 13 Ventura, iOS 15.7.1, watchOS 9.1, tvOS 16.1, HomePod OS 16.1 were also released.

iPadOS 16.1, which is expected to launch for public next week will be the first iPadOS 16 update for users after Apple delayed the launch of iPadOS 16 and only launched iOS 16 last month.

iPadOS 16.1 will bring all the features of iOS 16 to iPads along with new multitasking feature called Stage Manager.

iOS 16.1 on the other hand is also a major release for iPhone users, as it is expected to bring features like Live Activities feature and Live Activities API for developers. This update will also bring iCloud Shared Photo Library feature, Matter support, Clean Energy Charging feature, ability for users to delete Apple Wallet app and it will be adding battery percentage to more iPhone models including iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone XR and iPhone 11.
