After announcing iOS 18.1’s release for next week, Apple has today released iOS 18.1 Release Candidate for beta testers. If you are testing out iOS 18.1 on your test devices, then you can now go to the Software Update section and install iOS 18.1 RC on them.
The Release Candidate of iOS 18.1 is available to both public and developer beta testers. The build number for this release of 22B82. Apple could end up releasing the same build for everyone next week when it releases the final version of iOS 18.1 for the public. However, the build could also change if Apple finds any bugs and makes changes to the operating system to fix them.
iOS 18.1 is the first major release of iOS 18 since the release of iOS 18.0 and is going to bring Apple Intelligence features like Writing Tools, Clean Up in Photos, and Notifications Summaries. These features will be available on all models of iPhone 16 as well as on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Along with iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 Release Candidates, Apple has also released macOS Sequoia 15.1 RC, tvOS 18.1 RC, visionOS 2.1 RC, and HomePod 18.1 RC. All of these updates can now be downloaded on their compatible devices.
