iPhone 14 Lineup To Feature Front Camera With Autofocus And F/1.9 Aperture

We hear a lot about the rear camera of the upcoming iPhone 14 lineup, however today we have news about the front facing camera commonly referred to as the ‘Selfie Camera’.

According to reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo Apple is going to add an upgraded front camera to the iPhone 14 lineup. This new camera will be added in all four models of iPhone 14 that includes iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The new front facing camera of iPhone 14 will have an autofocus feature and a wider ƒ/1.9 aperture. If true, then this will be the first iPhone ever to feature a front camera with autofocus capabilities. For comparison the current iPhone 13 lineup has a fixed focus front camera with ƒ/2.2.

With the addition of autofocus and lower f-number iPhone will be able to take selfies and portraits with better and shallower depth-of-field. Autofocus will also contribute in better quality and focus effect for FaceTime calls notes Kuo.

Previous reports from Kuo and other sources have claimed that iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will have 48-megapixel wide lens that will be capable of 8K video recording. Pair that with Autofocus and lower f-number of the front camera and we are looking at some massive camera improvements in the future iPhone lineup.

Apple is expected to announce four new iPhone models in September 2022. Apart from upgraded cameras we are also hearing that the new devices will finally get rid of the huge notch and will feature pill shaped camera and Face ID module.
