If you’ve just got a new iPhone or need to switch to a new SIM card, this guide is for you. Here you will find step-by-step instructions on how you can insert a physical SIM card into your iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro.

Here’s what you need

  • An iPhone with a physical SIM slot
  • A SIM card
  • A SIM ejector tool (you can find it in your iPhone’s box, or use a small paperclip)

Insert or Remove the SIM card from iPhone

Follow these steps to insert or remove a SIM card from your iPhone.

  1. Find the SIM card slot. It’s located on the left side of the device right below the Volume buttons.
  2. Take the SIM ejector tool or a small paperclip and insert it gently into the small hole next to the SIM tray.
  3. Push lightly until the tray pops out. Be careful not to use excessive force.
  4. Remove the tray and place your SIM card into it.
  5. When placing the SIM card into the tray, make sure the gold chip is facing upwards.
  6. Make sure to align the SIM card with the tray. The cut corner should match the shape of the slot.
  7. Once the SIM card is securely in place, slide the tray back into your iPhone.

After you have properly inserted the SIM card into your iPhone, it should be detected by your iPhone and you should now be able to use cellular internet, make phone calls, and perform other actions.

If the SIM is not working on iPhone, try restarting your device or contact your carrier for help.
