Apple Releases iOS 16.1 Beta 5 To Developers

As we draw closer to the public release of iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16 Apple has today released iOS 16.1 beta 5 to developers. The update is showing up as iPadOS 16 Developer Beta 12 on iPads.

Today’s release comes just a day after Apple had released iOS 16.0.3 software update to public. The build number for iOS 16.1 beta 5 is 20B5072b.

In addition to iOS 16.1 beta 5 and iPadOS 16 beta 12, Apple has also released macOS Ventura beta 11 and tvOS 16.1 beta 5. You can download them on their supported devices now.

As we have reported in our previous posts, iOS 16.1 is a major release for iPhone users, as it is expected to bring features like Live Activities feature and Live Activities API for developers. This update will also bring iCloud Shared Photo Library feature, Matter support, Clean Energy Charging feature, ability for users to delete Apple Wallet app and it will be adding battery percentage to more iPhone models including iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone XR and iPhone 11.

Apple is expected to release iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16 for public in the week of October 24.

In addition to iOS 16.1’s release Apple is also rumored to launch new hardware products with the help of press releases. This includes new iPad Pros with M2 chip, 10th gen. iPad and MacBook Pros with upgraded specs.
