iOS 16.1 Beta 4 Released To Developers Ahead Of Public Launch

Apple has just released iOS 16.1 Beta 4 and it is now available for download. The update has been released ahead of iOS 16.1 expected launch date in mid October. The build number for today’s release is 20B5064c.

For those running beta on their test iPads, Apple has also released iPadOS 16 beta 11. You can now head over to Settings -> General -> Software Update in order to install the new update.

For those who are looking to install iOS 16.1 beta on test devices for the first time, Apple is offering iOS 16.1 beta profile on its developer portal.

Today Apple has also released macOS Ventura Beta 10, tvOS 16.1 beta and for older Macs macOS Monterey 12.6.1 beta.

iOS 16.1 is a major release for iPhone users as it is expected to bring features like Live Activities feature and Live Activities API for developers. This update will also bring iCloud Shared Photo Library feature, Matter support, Clean Energy Charging feature, ability for users to delete Apple Wallet app and it will be adding battery percentage to more iPhone models including iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone XR and iPhone 11.

In iOS 16.1 Apple has also redesigned the new battery indicator and it now gets empty as the battery levels fall. Previously it remained static and full when the battery percentage feature was turned on.

iPadOS 16.1 on the other hand is a big update for iPads, which will finally bring all the features of iOS 16.0 to iPads along with some iPad exclusive features like Stage Manager. In previous beta Apple finally brought Stage Manager to iPad Pro models that do not feature M1 chip.
